Announcements for Sunday, February 5
Fifth Sunday after Epiphany
In Jesus' healing works we see the hand of the creator God, lifting up the sick woman to health and service. Like Simon's mother-in-law, we are lifted up to health and diakonia. Following Jesus, we strengthen the powerless; like Jesus, we seek to renew our own strength in quiet times of prayer.
Financial statements for 2011 are available this morning on the link table. If you have any questions, please speak with our Financial Secretary, Barbara Henninger.
Parent's Night Out: Our youth will care for chilren from kindergarten through 5th grade from 5:00-9:30 pm on Friday, February 10 at the church. Children will make their own pizzas for dinner and board games and a movie will be available. The fee is $25 ($20 for siblings). Please register children by February 7. Adult volunteers are also needed to help out on that evening. Please contact Marcie if you can help.
Lent is coming! Ash Wednesday is February 22. We will have services with imposition of ashes at 12:00 noon and 7:30pm. Shrove Tuesday is Tuesday, February 21. Start thinking of ideas now for our annual talent show and pancake supper.
The Frontier soup fundraiser in going great! Don't forget to check out the many varieties and place your order during coffee hour this morning. The church gets about 50% back and you get a quick delicious family meal.
Sunday School Superintendent and teacher Lori Esteves will be stepping down after many years of loving, wholehearted, and faithful service to the Sunday School ministry. A new superintendent is needed to take over for the school year beginning in September 2012. If you are interested in getting to know the children at Our Saviour, this is a very rewarding role. If you are curious, please speak with Lori.
The Circle School is celebrating its 40th year by putting together a commemorative cookbook. Church members are asked to join with other Croton establishments and residents to submit favorite recipes. Forms to submit recipes can be found on the link table. Please consider being part of this wonderful milestone for the Circle School.
