Our congregation reaches out to those in need in our community and throughout the world, with special focus on issues relating to hunger. Some of our outreach programs include:
- We support the work of Lutheran Social Services of New York and Lutheran World Relief through the benevolence portion of our budget. Total support this fiscal year will amount to $7000.
- In addition, many of our members make additional gifts toward the reduction of world hunger.
- Once a month, we prepare a meal for about 20 homeless people at the Jan Peek Home in Peekskill.
- Each spring, we participate in an Offering of Letters, in which we write our elected representatives on an issue relating to world hunger.
