Anthony Stephens has been the pastor of Our Saviour since April 2002. Pastor Stephens first preached at Our Saviour as a supply pastor on the Sunday after September 11, 2001. He was struck at that time and in subsequent supply Sundays that Our Saviour was a warm, outgoing congregation with its heart in the Gospel. Pastor Stephens is a native of England. His former careers have included various forms of seafaring: as an engineer on supertankers, mate/engineer on "mega-yachts", and charter work on sailboats in the Caribbean.

Finally acceding to the Spirit's call to ordained ministry, he arrived at Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary in Berkeley, California. While working on the requirements for ordination including the master's degree, he spent time driving buses and more time working as a jail chaplain. He was ordained in 1995 and served a congregation in rural Western New York for five years.

While at seminary he met Lisa, whom he married in 1995. Lisa is one of Our Saviour's music ministers. She has played in various church settings, having played keyboard in a rock band while in college. They have three children, a daughter and twin boys.

Pastor Stephens is an avid runner, having completed ten marathons. He also competes in the local "Half Ironman" triathlon held in Croton. Members of Our Saviour staff a hydration station on the route handing out Gatorade, water, and sugary things and cheering on the competitors in the 70.3 mile race.

Pastor Stephens holds New York State licenses in mental health counseling and in law. He has worked with victims of trauma and domestic violence in multiple contexts since his early days of seminary.

Pastor Stephens welcomes all to Our Saviour and would be delighted to speak with you.
