Fourth week of Lent

Good day siblings in Christ,

We are entering into the fourth week of Lent and continuing with our Ask series. I have had several members comment about how much they are enjoying the liturgy, the music, and the asking of questions. I am glad to hear this. I will look for more series in the future.

On Palm Sunday, we are saying Godspeed to the Esteves family. While Lori and family will be with us on Easter, due to scheduling, we wanted to make sure we blessed and thanked them for all the years they have been here prior to their final Sunday. The altar guild is coordinating this coffee hour if you would like to help out in any way.

If you read the newsletter, you saw that after Easter, I will be sending a survey about becoming a Reconciling in Christ congregation. In short, this is about becoming an open and affirming congregation to the LGBTQIA+ community. Many of you may remember we did this once before. That was in 2019 and we were ready to vote in 2020. You can guess why we did not complete the process. Now that we have a good idea of what our congregation looks like, we are going to resurvey to get an idea. Our first round was a 99% yes. While I would expect similar results this round too, please fill out the survey to give us a base level for the council to make decisions.

A reminder about upcoming services:

  • Maundy Thursday 7:00 p.m.
  • Good Friday 7:00 p.m.
  • Easter Sunday 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. (special music at the 10:00 a.m. service only)
  • Easter Breakfast 9:00 a.m.
