Good day siblings in Christ,
Thank you so much for all those who came out to welcome Croton Caring. A few weeks ago, in my sermon, I asked the congregation to listen to how many individuals are now helped by Croton Caring. When I was talking to their director, he shared at the last distribution, there were over 300 boxes made. He said the primary group being helped are children and families. Over 300 families in just Croton who are at a financial level where food and healthcare items are needed. My sermon was about the hidden poor in Croton. Over 300 families in the Village alone and it is growing. I am so grateful Our Saviour can play a small part in helping the community. Croton Caring always needs volunteers, so check their website regularly.
Tomorrow into Monday, we are due to have some heavy rains and high winds. Please take any precautions needed for tomorrow. We will be broadcasting on YouTube even if it just me in the building. Stay safe. It is not due to start until the afternoon, but we want everyone safe. The office is closed on Monday due to Indigenous Peoples’ Day.
I wanted to share a bit about my schedule for the next few weeks. This coming week, I have two funerals offsite, so if you need me, it might be easier to text or email and I will return a message when I can. Writing three sermons in one week is a lot of work. The week of the 20th is the annual Bishop’s retreat. Metro NY clergy are expected to attend this annually, so I will be present for this event. Finally, on Sunday November 2nd, Deacon Lee Ann will be leading service. Trinity White Plains is in need of a pastor for worship and since I have not met most of the members yet, it is a good chance to get to know them. I am so grateful for Deacon Lee Ann and her leadership. We are blessed.
