Baby care kits for Lutheran World Relief
On July 17 we will be cutting up donated T-shirts during coffee hour to be used as sleep shirts in baby care kits for Lutheran World Relief. Everyone can do this–kids, adults, everyone! “This is a God’s work. Our hands.” activity, so if you have a GWOH T-shirt, wear it!
Christmas in July
On July 24 we will have a Christmas in July service. This year’s Christmas Eve had many Covid warnings, which hovered over all of our services. On July 24 we are going to sing some Christmas songs and have a little fun.
Answering questions I’m sometimes asked
Throughout the year, I get questions from members that I think a larger group would like to hear answered. I have decided to do a small video series on some of those questions. The first one will show up tomorrow morning at 9:00 a.m. on our Facebook and YouTube channels. The questions I expect to address so far are:
- Are we Evangelicals if we are part of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA)?
- Why do we not have Jesus on the cross in Lutheran churches, while many Catholic churches do?
- Why do we pass the peace before communion?
- What makes us different from other Lutheran denominations?
