Good day siblings in Christ,
Once again, we have a snow alert for the area. Should we need to not have in-person service, we will notify the congregation via email and on Facebook. These are the fastest and easiest ways to communicate. Since I live next door, I will go online at 10 a.m. for a brief service. The last time we had to close was because the village banned parking on all streets.
Should we have in person service, we welcome Cooper from Thrivent to host the coffee hour.
The Metro NY Synod is hosting an event for women on March 14 at Marble Collegiate Church in Manhattan. All women are invited to this day-long event. Register here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/mnys-womens-event-tickets-1982297678719?aff=oddtdtcreator
On March 8, Our Saviour will also be celebrating women! The Council has invited all people to wear purple, green, or white (or all 3) to honor International Women’s Day. We will also have a guest pastor on that day in Pastor Lena Warren. Croton Caring will also host coffee hour on that day. It will be a wonderful day.
One of the events I have worked on for the Village is to bring Dr. Annie Kleinhaus to give a first-person account of the holocaust. If you are interested in coming, you must sign up below.
Pastor Johnson
A Personal History by Holocaust Survivor, Dr. Annie Kleinhaus
Saturday, March 7 at 4:00-5:30 p.m. This special speaker event is brought to Croton as a collaboration of Cathy Deutchman, Khamla Erskine, Michelle Minoff, Pastor Justin Johnson, Rabbi Polish and Mayor Brian Pugh.
Annie Kleinhaus will share her personal account of survival during the Holocaust and beyond to lead a powerful, and in many ways, ground-breaking life. This is an opportunity to hear the lived experience of a Holocaust survivor, in a time of rising antisemitism in the US. What can we learn from history to improve our collective future? After her presentation, there will be time allotted for Q & A and discussion.Registration is required. Please RSVP here to let us know you’d like to attend or with regrets.
Location details (in Croton) will be sent out to registered attendees closer to the event date.
