Good day siblings in Christ,
I want to thank Pastor Lena Warren for her wonderful sermon last week and for Croton Caring for their yummy desserts. It has been a joy working with Croton Caring for all these years now.
It is difficult to believe, but Holy Week is coming up in just a few weeks. The worship schedule for the week is:
- Palm Sunday, March 29 at 10 a.m.
- Maundy Thursday, April 2 at 7 p.m.
- Good Friday, April 3 at 7 p.m.
- Easter Sunday, April 5 at 10 a.m.
The week after Easter, we are going to have a little fun. We will have a pot luck for coffee hour, so bring an appetite and a dish to pass. We are also going to celebrate Humor Sunday. What is Humor Sunday? You probably have heard of April Fools Day. That gets its tradition from Humor Sunday. The idea is since Jesus beat Satan and rose from the dead, it is a big prank on Satan. On the Sunday after Easter, we do small pranks during the service. What they are, we cannot tell you, but expect to be silly on that day. Wear a funny hat or shirt or something, have crazy hair, make balloon animals, whatever. Your worship leaders will also have a bit of fun that day.
Last week, we made some cards to include in Croton Caring’s food outreach for March. The amazing thing was 57 were made out of 75! We are in the home stretch, so we will finish making them this week. Bring your creative side.
One more note: This last year, we moved streaming the service from Facebook to YouTube with the hope of reaching more people. Two things happened though. We first learned that setting up our Mevo camera to work with YouTube is more difficult and we must manually move videos to be public. In addition, our average weekly viewership went down dramatically from 20-30 to 5-10. Talking with the council, my recommendation is to switch back to Facebook and then upload a copy to YouTube. We will announce this change before we make it.
