The next few weeks

From September 25 through October 10, I will be completely unavailable as I heal from surgery. When I return on October 11, I will not be able to use my left hand for four more weeks, so any extra help carrying things around the church would be appreciated. On September 27, Rev. Nicole Schwalbe the Assistant to the Bishop of Metro NY will be joining you and on October 4, it will be a Service of the Word led by Deacon Lee Ann. There is a pastor on call if an emergency comes up during those two weeks. The first contact would be our Council President John M, who can contact that pastor. I will be unable to drive or get anywhere for those two weeks, hence the need for extra coverage.

October 4 will be the first Christmas Fair meetings to help plan our annual fair. We hope you can join us.

Finally, we will have a service of the Affirmation of Baptism on October 25. Part of the tradition of that service is to have members of the congregation add thoughts to the gift Bibles given out that day. Think of one of your favorite verses and add it with a note of congratulations. We will have 7 confirmands that day, so be ready to write. I will begin putting the Bibles out this week, as there will be a two week gap.

There is good news in the musician search front. We placed an ad on Indeed and we have 7 applicants so far. Two have also sent a resume via email, so there is interest. We will begin interviewing when I return in October.
