Donations from “God’s Work, Our Hands” Sunday

Good day siblings in Christ,

If you did not hear the wonderful news on Sunday, we exceeded our goals in the collection for Padres Hispanos in Ossining.

FINAL COUNT OF DONATIONS

Anna Guzman, Director of Padres Hispanos, was thrilled to receive our donation of beans and rice. The final count was 159 cans of beans and 224 pounds of rice. Our goal had been 100 cans of beans and 40 pounds of rice. There were also 26 miscellaneous items such as dish soap, toothbrushes, and toothpaste.

I asked her what else they need. She said there is a great need for household goods such as pots and pans, mattresses, and bedding. (We gave her a used quilt in excellent condition.) She said the people keep coming and they come here with nothing and need help until they can get a job.

She also told us they just graduated a class of 27 home health aides–certified, with working papers and social security numbers. They are ready to work through a placement agency.

Thanks to all who participated!

God’s work. Our hands.

Be love,
Pastor Johnson
