Two weeks until Christmas

Good day siblings in Christ,

Can you believe we are only two weeks away from Christmas?!? It is coming up quickly. We have some special services for the next few weeks, so be on the lookout. I do want to remind everyone that these services take a lot of work from the copying of multiple pages to music preparation to sermon prep. This is a very busy time for the staff, especially in the office for the next few weeks, as we have to create four fuller than normal bulletins. If something is needed from the office and it can wait until after Christmas, it may be wise to wait until then. Please be patient with us during this time as we ramp up the office for Christmas prep.

I do want to say we had an incredible Christmas Craft Fair this weekend. It was very full throughout the day and we had a lot of fun. The great thing is we raised over $1600. This has been matched by a generous donation, so we are now over $3200! We decided to combine both the Christmas Craft Fair and the Tag Sale funds and will tithe them to 3 different groups. This is such wonderful news!

Coats, hats, and food have all been delivered to those who need them. Thank you for all the donations made for this. The seafarers bags have also been delivered. It has been an incredible week.

Announcements for this week

There are special online one-off quick study lessons throughout December. You can find two of them, so far, on Facebook and YouTube pages. The first is “Is it ok to say X-Mas?” The second is on “St Nicholas Day.” This Tuesday will be another one.

December 9: We will have our annual Christmas caroling around the Harmon area, leaving the church at 7:00 p.m. Even if you cannot sing, come on out! It is such a fun time and the appreciation by the neighborhood is incredible. Hot cocoa waits for us when we return too. This is a great family activity where lots of kids are involved. There is walking involved and we usually cover about a mile, very, very slowly.

December 18: A special surprise for worship.

December 24: Christmas Eve service at 7:00 p.m.

December 25: Christmas morning service at 10:00 a.m. Relaxed attire such as jammies or Santa hats is welcomed.

January 1: Lessons and Carols at 10:00 a.m.
