Cookout last Sunday

Good day siblings in Christ,

Thank you everyone who participated in our cookout on Sunday. I hope everyone had fun and had a good meal. Thank you to everyone who brought food and shared a plate.

We are moving forward on our new heat pumps for the parish hall. John has meet with an electrician and the company is ready to install it. Once we have the dates, we will let the congregation know because there will be no AC in the building while it is being installed. We have also been blessed by some donations to cover part of the cost and we are hopeful there we will have it fully covered. One of the joys is Con Ed has a rebate for not for profits who are becoming more energy efficient, so we will get a refund from them. The great news is the oil tank will be coming out completely! No more oil in that building!

Throughout the years, we have been slowly lowering our carbon footprint. The lights in the sanctuary were changed a few years ago to be more energy efficient. We are using the heat pump in the sanctuary instead of the heating system when Fall comes, so we are saving on energy costs there too. We want to be good stewards of not only our building, but of the environment as well.

There will be a Lutheran Revival on August 20 at St Andrews in Yorktown Heights from 5:30 to 8:30. It is open to all and is appropriate for children. It is 2SLGBTQIA+ friendly as well as we are an affirming denomination. The set up will be a meal, Bible study, some testimonial time, and a worship service. Revival can be a loaded word for some, but it is less the Evangelical type revival with altar calls and calls for repentance, and more the Jesus loves you fully and wholly type revival to remind us of God’s grace and love in the world.
